Venue history

The Fillmore Silver Spring may have only opened relatively recently, but its name and location go back much further. The current venue opened in 2011 in a former JCPenney shopping outlet. Since then, it’s become a massive part of Silver Spring’s creative scene.

The venue is managed by Live Nation, a part of their national expansion that includes many other Fillmore venues. Each takes its name and decor inspiration from the original, iconic San Francisco arena, known for hosting legendary rock shows since the 1960s.
